Simon is a visionary leader driving U.S. solar manufacturing independence from the Heartland. With 30+ years career experience in renewables, waste-to-energy, and infrastructure, Simon originated Aequo’s lean, subsidy-independent TOPCon facility and waste-derived cells program to deliver class leading efficiency and quality. Through his vision, Aequo is creating $500-Million (plus) of economic development in Nebraska. As Founder, President & CEO of Aequo Solar, Simon has developed the company’s strategy, including the 2–6 Gigawatt Grand Island facility planning, 5.1 GWdc DG/utility pipeline, and next generation cells R&D program.

His expertise spans sustainability leadership (LEED-certified buildings), expert witness testimony in 100+ cases in arbitration and litigation, and project turnaround for EPC contractors. Simon’s vision aligns with Heartland values — integrity, hard work, and community impact — positioning Aequo to deliver a national energy hub in the Heartland by 2029.

Wayne E. Williams

In the 40+ year span of his career in the electrical power generation industry, Wayne has been an integral part of managing and installing over 4000 MW of Solar, Wind, Coal, Natural Gas, Hydro, Diesel, and Nuclear energy-generation systems across the North American, Asian, and Australian continents.

Drake D. Becksted

Vice President & Co-Founder

As Vice President of Aequo Solar, Drake drives client-focused solutions, fosters repeat business and advances strategic growth. He leads operations, evaluates technological innovations, and spearheads cross-functional initiatives that meet the organizations core values and dedication to high-quality solutions. As a language liaison and technical translator, Drake’s education and experience ensure that communication is never lost, and precision is a priority.

Drake is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Professional & Technical Writing. Drake began his career in construction and renewable energy services in 2016, serving in Administrative Assistant & Field Logistics Support roles at a Heartland based EPC contractor.  Drake quickly progressed into the role of Director of Operations in early 2017, where his experience in Construction Management, Sales & Marketing, Business Development, Account Management, Technical Support, Operations & Maintenance, Logistics, and Accounts Receivable was developed and honed.

From 2017 to 2025, Drake managed, directed, and performed in the additional roles of Assistant Project Manager, Contracts Administrator, Operations & Maintenance Administrator, Strategic Business Development, and Vice President – Sales & Marketing. This extensive experience in over 250+ MW of Distributive Generation solar projects, and counting, has assured Drake holds the experience and education necessary to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a key-leader and founding member of Aequo Solar.
